I build web and software applications, lead engineering teams, manage projects, and facilitate communication among disciplines. Currently I work as a senior engineer and manager at Yahara Software in Middleton, WI, where we build solutions for clients in the Biohealth, Transportation, and Entertainment industries.
The same information, arranged as a desktop operating system with draggable windows, a boot sequence and three playable games. It is the more fun version and the less efficient one.

Diagramming an ultimate play on a whiteboard tells you where everyone ends up, but not how they get there or what any one player is supposed to be reading along the way. Ultimate Playbook animates a play as a timeline instead: you scrub through it, watch the cuts happen in order, and follow the narrative for a single position rather than trying to track seven people at once. The play designer writes to the same format the viewer reads, so a play someone builds is immediately playable by the rest of the team.
Disconnect Madison is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that treats device dependency and algorithmic social media as a community problem rather than a personal failing. Most people who want off these platforms quit alone, quietly, and drift back within a month, so the site exists to make the attempt a collective one: what the organisation is, what it argues, and a voluntary pledge for anyone who wants to try alongside other people. Its premise is that widespread dependence on algorithm-driven platforms is harming public wellbeing and eroding our ability to connect with what is physically around us, and that solidarity holds up better than willpower does.
People > profit. I value long-term sustainability, transparency, and humane business practices. The best work is done by happy workers. I believe corporate tech has lost sight of this.
Build with empathy. Build what users don't even realize they need. Get out of their way. Make them smile.
The tech landscape is widely homogenized and lacking the character it once had. I believe fun begets greatness, and you don't need to sacrifice effeciency or user-friendliness to be a little whimsical.
If we aren't fucking up sometimes, we aren't trying hard enough.
Functional is better than perfect. Planning is great, plans are worthless.
